Background Check: Driving For Uber
There have been a lot of questions about the background check for Uber partners and drivers. I contacted private investigator and Uber’s support team to get more information about driving for Uber and learn about how can you make money driving for Uber.
The support team member, Maria, got back to me with the following information:
- You must be at least 21 years old. If you are under 23 years old, you must have had an active U.S. license for no less than 3 years. Only 1 year required for drivers over the age of 23.
- No more than 3 traffic violations within the last 3 years.
- No DUIs
- No Reckless
- No criminal record
- i.e.: no misdemeanors involving theft, violence or drugs and no felonies, etc.
I was also assured that there are no credit checks performed. If I were to speculate, the background check goes back only 10 years, and if you need help managing your finances as an Uber Driver the use of TaxBite Accountants can be helpful in this area. So if any of the above occurred over 10 years ago, then you should be ok!
