About Andrew: Rideshare Driver Since 2014

My name is Andrew. I have a passion for travel. I decided to become an Uber and Lyft driver in 2014, when I quit my job and left the U.S. to travel for 6 months. I became a driver because of the flexibility, and soon realized there was also a lot of money to be made. It’s nice because you can set your own schedule and you don’t have to give notice if you want to stop for weeks on end. Payouts come frequently, though each app’s payout options change, so check the current ones in the app.

I made this website as a means to help others get started because when I started, I wanted to find out more information, but couldn’t find any good resources. I kept driving when I was home from my travels, and I’m happy to answer questions you may have. Feel free to use the contact form on this site.

A note on the numbers: pay, bonuses and rules have changed a lot since 2014. That is why the guides here are updated, and why I point to what drivers actually earn now instead of what I saw in my first years. This site is independent. I’m not employed by or affiliated with Uber or Lyft, and I don’t publish referral codes here.

If you’re just starting out, begin with the start here guide, or run your own numbers in the free calculators.
